Project - MFund

Project ClientLeading Multinational Bank

Environment Power Builder, Oracle 9i, Windows XP

DescriptionMfund is a Client Server application used to do trade uploads by money markets, equity shares and mutual funds. It is used to do price uploads for BSE and NSE automatically and manually. NAV will be generated depending upon the data collected from various money markets, equity shares and mutual funds. It generates the reports for all the acquisitions, disposals, uploads, NAV and holding reports.

Client Issues – This application runs on a 2Mbps network which is used by concurrent users at a time, and need to calculate and define the hardware parameters for the application in end user environment.

Solution by Mahaveer – Mahaveer has conducted the performance testing using the Borland Performance testing tool – Silk Performer. At the end of the performance testing, response times for the users, required bandwidth and the hardware parameters have been defined.

Roles
   1. Identifying the Performance scenarios, setting up the test environment, deployment of application and sanity check.
   2. Creating the test scripts, parameterization and error handling.
   3. Identify the baseline and define the benchmark for the application for the defined number of users.
   4. Running the different types of work loads and monitor the DB server and the client machines.
   5. Generate the reports, identify the bottlenecks and rerunning the test to ensure the performance results generated
are according to the end user expectations.
   6. Knowledge transfer of the scripts and results to the client.

Value Propositions
1.Defined the hardware parameters required to run it in the live environment for 50 users.
2.Defined the response times for various transactions depending upon the number of users.
3.Defined the time taken for completing the EOD process which will help the money markets to give the report to the       investors.
4.Results of the 50 users can be extrapolated to the more number of users to define the required parameters.
